Amelia Chambliss

PhD Student at Columbia University

Amelia is a 4th year PhD student in the Plasma Physics program at Columbia University. Under advisement from Professor Elizabeth Paul (Princeton '15), Amelia studies waves and high-temperature particles in stellarators, a type of fusion machine. As a SULI student, Amelia worked at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory for two years on MUSE, a tabletop stellarator experiment. Amelia has been involved in fusion advocacy at the government level, both at the White House Summit on Fusion Energy in March of 2022 and as a leader of the Fusion Student Delegation, where she has interfaced with Congressional offices, NRC staff, and DOE officials. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
