Ali Mehmani

Ali Mehmani is Head of Core Research, Data Science & Analytics at Prescriptive Data, a smart building and real estate sustainability artificial intelligence (AI) company. Mehmani joined the PropTech company focused on optimizing tenant comfort and decreasing carbon emissions in June 2018. Prior to Prescriptive Data, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Data Science Institute at Columbia University. Mehmani specializes in multidisciplinary optimization, complex system design, machine learning, deep structural networks, and cyber physical systems, with primary applications in wind energy and building energy efficiency. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University as well as a Postdoctoral in Data Science from Columbia University. Mehmani is a professional member of IEE, ASME, and AIAA. He has authored 35 international journals as well as two book chapters, and actively reviews 15 journals in design, computing, and energy. In addition, he is involved in organizing and chairing technical sessions on emerging topics at ASME IDETC & ASME PEC conferences.
